RobertPortrait300x524Attorney Robert A. Whitley graduated Suma Cum Laude from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 2006. Prior to starting his own practice, Mr. Whitley worked as an Associate in the litigation department of Baker Botts, L.L.P., one of Texas’ most prestigious law firms representing large clients in a variety of capacities on complex legal matters. While at Baker Botts, Mr. Whitley served as a prosecutor in the volunteer prosecutor program with the City of Houston Municipal Court.

In 2009, Mr. Whitley started his own practice, representing clients in a variety of matters, including personal injury, contract disputes, employment matters, foreclosure, landlord tenant disputes, wills, probate, and family law matters. Mr. Whitley formed Blasingame Whitley, Attorneys at Law with partner Chad Blasingame in June 2011.

Mr. Whitley’s practice focuses on personal injury, business disputes, and employment matters.

Mr. Whitley has represented clients in Federal District Court, State District Court, County Court, Texas’ District Courts of Appeals and Justice of the Peace Court in the following types of matters:

• As Plaintiff in multiple personal injury matters including car accidents, slip and fall, premises liability, and other negligence matters.

• As both Plaintiff and Defendant in employment matters including unpaid commissions, unpaid wages, employee theft, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, breach of non-compete agreement, trade secret misappropriation, defamation, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

• As both Plaintiff and Defendant in business matters including breach of contract, professional negligence, legal malpractice and breach of fiduciary duty.

• As Appellee in legal malpractice and civil theft claims.
